The invention discloses a stereo garage using a robot and a stereo garage using a lift cage car carrier. A driver drives a car to a gate of the stereo garage; the robot carries the car and walks into a lift cage; an elevator ascends or descends the lift cage to a story with a vacant position; the robot walks out of the lift cage and walks to a gate of a vacant car room; and the robot rotates, conveys the car into the car room, and puts down the car; or the driver drives the car to the gate of the stereo garage; a traveling crane puts the lift cage beside the car; a horizontal moving device of the lift cage car carrier extends out and carries the car into the lift cage; the traveling crane walks; and a winch conveys the lift cage to the gate of the vacant car room; the horizontal moving device of the lift cage car carrier extends out to convey the car into the car room and to put down the car, and then retracts back into the lift cage. The car taking process is a reverse process to the car storing process. An ascending and descending device, a height limiter and a car wheel clamper are arranged on the horizontal moving device of each of a robot car carrier and the lift cage car carrier. The winch is arranged on the traveling crane; one winch motor drives four winch capstans to rotate through a rotating shaft and gears; and a rope guider is arranged beside the winch capstans.
