The invention discloses a preparation method for a Pr doped ZrSiO4 yellow ceramic pigment. The method comprises the steps: dissolving ethyl orthosilicate in ethanol so as to obtain a solution A; dissolving zirconium oxychloride octahydrate and praseodymium nitrate into distilled water, and mixing the solution with ethanol so as to obtain a solution B; stirring and mixing the solution A and the solution B, adjusting the pH of a mixed solution system to be 5, and carrying out heat preservation for 24-36 hours in a hydrothermal kettle at the temperature of 150-210 DEG C, so as to obtain Pr doped ZrSiO4 white yellowing nano-powder; and then, calcining the nano-powder for 0.5-1 hour at the temperature of 1,000-1,050 DEG C, thereby obtaining the Pr doped ZrSiO4 yellow ceramic pigment product. In addition, the invention further discloses the product prepared by the preparation method and application of the product.
