The invention relates to high-performance pressureless sintered silicon carbide bulletproof ceramic and a preparation method thereof. The high-performance pressureless sintered silicon carbide bulletproof ceramic comprises, by weight, 96-99 parts of silicon carbide ultrafine powder, 1-2 parts of boron carbide ultrafine powder, 0.2-1 part of nanometer titanium boride, 10-20 part of water-soluble phenolic resin and 0-0.5 parts of a high efficiency dispersant. Through mixing and ball milling, spray granulation, dry-pressing molding, green body curing and vacuum sintering, a final product is obtained. In production, water-soluble phenolic resin is used so that anhydrous ethanol as a liquid medium is avoided. Petroleum coke and carbon black are avoided so that safety and convenience are greatly improved in production and a production cost is greatly reduced. Through use of a small amount of nanometer titanium boride in the product, product performances are greatly improved.
