The metal glaze material comprises the following components in parts by weight according to the formula: 30-70 parts of SiO2, 9-20 parts of Al2O3, 25-50 parts of solid waste phosphated residue, 1-8 parts of Li2O, 0-6 parts of CaO, 0-6 parts of MgO, 0-6 parts of Na2O and 0-6 parts of K2O; the preparation method comprises the following steps: (1), leaching with ammonium hydroxide to obtain solid waste phosphated residue, filtering, washing, drying and crushing precipitate for standby application; (2), preparing a fusion cake; (3), grinding and sieving to obtain the finished product of the metal glaze material. According to the ceramic metal glaze material and the preparation method thereof, solid waste phosphated residue produced in the surface granosealing process of industrial metals is washed and crushed, and washed and crushed solid waste phosphated residue is then introduced into the metal glaze material to serve as a colorant, therefore industrial waste is effectively utilized, the cost is reduced at the same time, and a great market prospect and an economic value are further achieved.
