The invention discloses an automatic split guard bar device for a highway contingency runway. The guard bar device is fixed in the middle of the highway contingency runway through limiting plug pins on the bottom of each segment of a guard bar, mutual connection of multiple sets of the guard bars is achieved through hasps arranged on the upper portions of the guard bars, each segment of the guard bar is formed by connecting split guard bars in a butt-joint mode through the hasps, and the split guard bars are moved to the two sides of the highway contingency runway after being steadily turned through an electric support rod mechanism and an active castor mechanism which are arranged on one side of each split guard bar. The automatic split guard bar device for the highway contingency runway is reasonable in structure, the using preparation time is effectively shortened, and the unstable potential safety hazards due to the fact that the split guard bars are placed on the two sides of the highway contingency runway are eliminated.
