The invention discloses a building block with a self heat-insulation function and a method for manufacturing the building block. The building block with the self heat-insulation function comprises a first heat-insulation layer, a second heat-insulation layer and a third heat-insulation layer which are sequentially vertically arranged. Blind hole with upward openings and closed lower ends are formed in the upper end surface of the third heat-insulation layer; the length and the height of the first heat-insulation layer are equal to the length and the height of the third heat-insulation layer, and the length and the height of the second heat-insulation layer are respectively larger than the length and the height of the first heat-insulation layer by 8-15 mm; the first heat-insulation layer, the second heat-insulation layer and the third heat-insulation layer are connected with one another by connecting pins which penetrate the second heat-insulation layer and are perpendicular to the second heat-insulation layer, one end of each connecting pin is positioned in the third heat-insulation layer, and the other end of each connecting pin is positioned in the first heat-insulation layer. The building block and the method have the advantages that resources can be comprehensively utilized, lands can be saved, obvious effects can be realized, state-specified energy-saving standards higher than 75% can be met by heat-insulation effects, the building block is good in fireproof performance and long in service life, the production cost can be reduced by 40-50 yuan per square meter, the construction period can be shortened by 1/3, and common quality problems due to the traditional method for manufacturing walls can be solved.
