The invention is applicable to the technical field of rail transit. The invention provides a novel straddle type monorail turnout. The straddle type monorail turnout comprises a body assembly and a lifting device for lifting the body assembly, the lifting device comprises a reduction gearbox, a motor, a lower supporting column and a lead screw guide rod. A gear and a rotating shaft are arranged inthe reduction gearbox; the rotating shaft penetrates through the gear; the output shaft of the motor penetrates through the reduction gearbox and is fixedly connected with the gear; and a tooth groove matched with the gear is formed in the outer side wall of the lower portion of the lead screw guide rod. The lower supporting column contains the upper supporting column, the output shaft of the motor is made to rotate by arranging the motor and the reduction gearbox, and therefore the reduction gearbox converts the rotating motion of the motor into ascending or descending of the lead screw guide rod through the gear, and the straight beam and the curved beam ascend or descend.
