The invention relates to the technical field of foundation engineering constriction, in particular to a small foundation pit excavation protection structure and a construction method thereof. The small foundation pit excavation protection structure comprises a plurality of protection walls which are arranged around a foundation pit, wherein each side of the foundation pit is provided with the protection wall, each protection wall is a prefabricated protection wall, a joint of adjacent protection walls is provided with a connecting angle, and a connecting assembly is arranged between the connecting angle and the corresponding protection wall; protection slots are formed in ground; the protection slots are formed around the foundation pit; the protection walls are arranged in the foundationpit; a stabilizing assembly is arranged between each protection wall and the bottom wall of each protection slot; and a reinforcing assembly is arranged between each protection wall and the side wallof each protection slot. The protection structure is arranged to support and protect the foundation pit; and compared with existing row-pile support and protection, the small foundation pit excavationprotection structure has the effect of shortening the integral construction period of the foundation pit.
