The invention discloses a steel box truss type arch truss segment and a support-free assembling and erecting method thereof, and belongs to the technical field of arch bridge construction. The arch truss segment comprises two groups of arch truss sheet sections, each arch truss sheet section comprises an upper chord member and a lower chord member, the upper chord members and the lower chord members are fixedly connected through web members, and temporary mounting devices are arranged at the end parts of the upper chord members and the lower chord members; and the middle connecting system, theupper plane connecting system and the lower plane connecting system are fixedly connected between the two groups of arch truss piece sections. During erection, the cable crane lifts the lifting appliance to a set elevation to mount the arch truss piece sections to be erected on the erected arch truss piece sections through the temporary mounting devices; fastening cables are hung on the arch truss segments to be erected and are tensioned in a grading manner, a cable crane is transversely moved into the bridge to hoist the middle connecting system and connect the middle connecting system between the upstream arch truss segment frame and the downstream arch truss segment frame, and finally the upper plane connecting system and the lower plane connecting system are assembled by using the cable crane to form the arch truss segment. The arch bridge is assembled and erected without a support, and the construction efficiency of the arch bridge is improved.
