A safer multi-blade side column lock comprises a lock case, a lock cylinder, blade grooves, blades, blade notches, a spring, side column grooves, and side columns. The blade notches provided on the blades and the other parts of the blades define blade barriers; the blade barriers in cooperation between the blades of the same blade grooves define barriers; and barriers are defined between the bladegrooves and the blade barriers contacted therewith by the barriers of the blade grooves in cooperation. By adopting this structural design, only the method of a key is used for detecting the positions of the blade notches of the blades by means of spaces between the blade grooves and the blades and between the blades and the blades, so that the multi-blade side column lock has better anti-theft performance.
