According to the technical scheme, the pedestrian traffic early warning system is characterized by comprising a traffic light set andfurther comprising a light curtain seat, a direct illuminating lamp, a reflecting seat, a safety light curtain, a controller and an alarm, wherein the light curtain seat is fixed to the lower portionof a light seat in the traffic light set; the direct illuminating lamp is vertically and adjustably arranged in the light curtain seat and used for directly illuminating colorful light rays; the reflecting seat is symmetrically arranged relative to the center line of the sidewalk about the light curtain seat; the safety light curtain is used for detecting passersby running the red light and comprises a light curtain generator and a light curtain receiver, a plurality of infrared transmitting tubes are arranged in the light curtain generator, a plurality of infrared receiving tubes opposite tothe infrared transmitting tubes are arranged in the light curtain receiver, the infrared transmitting tubes are used for transmitting modulation signals, and the infrared receiving tubes are used forreceiving the modulation signals and outputting high and low levels in an internal circuit. The pedestrian traffic early warning system can play a good role in warning pedestrians to cross the road and run the red light.
