The preparation method comprises thefollowing steps: step 1, adding deionized water into a container, heating, stirring, dropwise adding a water solution formed by mixing methoxy polyethylene glycol ether methacrylate monoester, mercaptopropionic acid, methacrylic acid and deionized water, dropwise adding an initiator, carrying out heat preservation after dropwise adding, then cooling, and adjusting the pH value so as to obtain a polycarboxylate water reducer mother liquor; step 2, adding a defoaming agent into the polycarboxylate water reducer mother liquor, stirring; then adjusting the viscosity of the feed liquid, conveyingthe feed liquid into an atomizer of a drying chamber; adding a parting agent into an air inlet pipeline, wherein the air inlet temperature is controlled to be 180-220 DEG C, and the feed liquid temperature is controlled to be 20-40 DEG C; atomizing the feed liquid by pressure, contacting and mixing the atomized feed liquid with a hot drying medium, evaporating and drying the fog drops, and then separating the hot drying medium and the powder by using a cyclone separator to obtain the powder polycarboxylate water reducer with good moisture absorption resistance and dispersion performance.
