The invention relates to a building adopting a horizontal supply and vertical exhausting ventilation system. The building adopts an air isolation structure which is provided with a plurality of flat layers in a vertical direction and a plurality of channels in a horizontal direction, the building comprises the plurality of flat layers, wherein a plurality of air supply and exhaust modules are arranged in the flat layers, the plurality of channels partition the plurality of air supply and exhaust modules through air, and each air supply and exhaust module comprises at least one functional spaceunit. The building adopts a flat-layer ventilation module, a flat-layer air supply main channel and an air supply branch channel to horizontally supply fresh air to each functional space unit in eachair supply and exhaust module of each flat layer, the functional space units communicate with an exhaust shaft, vertical exhaust is achieved, the ventilation problem of large-volume and ultra-large-volume buildings, namely fresh air entering and contaminated air exhaust problems are solved, thereby realizing the technical goals of increasing the three-dimensional scale of the buildings, increasing the volume of the buildings, reducing a specific surface area and increasing a volume fraction.
