The invention relates to the technical field of building materials, and discloses a non-sintered roofing slate tailing brick and a preparation method thereof. The tailing brick comprises the followingraw material components in parts by mass: 50-60 parts of roofing slate tailings, 30-50 parts of fly ash, 5-10 parts of metakaolin and 12-16 parts of an alkaline activator. The preparation method of the tailing brick comprises the following steps: carrying out dry mixing on roofing slate tailings, fly ash and metakaolin, adding the alkaline activator and water, carrying out uniform stirring and mixing to obtain a mixture, carrying out compression molding on the mixture, and carrying out natural curing to obtain the tailing brick. According to the invention, the roofing slate tailings are usedas a matrix, and a large amount of industrial waste residues, namely fly ash is digested at the same time, so the prepared tailing brick has a stable immobilization effect, a new way is provided for reasonable secondary utilization of tailings and solid waste, energy loss is reduced, and environmental pollution caused by brick sintering is also effectively reduced.
