The invention belongs to the field of hydraulic and hydroelectric engineering and in particular discloses an intercepting float facility capable of lifting automatically as the water level rises and falls to intercept floating dirt in a reservoir area and a construction method for constructing the intercepting float facility. The intercepting float facility comprises two intercepting float guide slot buttresses which are separately arranged on the left and right sides of a water inlet of a power station, intercepting float guide slots are formed in the intercepting float guide slot buttresses,trolleys capable of moving up and down are slidably arranged in the intercepting float guide slots, and end part float bowls are hinged to the trolleys. At least two intercepting float bowls are connected in series between the two end part float bowls. The trolleys hinged to the end part float bowls are slidably arranged in the intercepting float guide slots. The end part float bowls can drive the trolleys to slide in the intercepting float guide slots to lift automatically as the water level of the reservoir area rises and falls in later period operation, and meanwhile, intercepting float bowls can lift automatically to intercept the floating dirt in the reservoir area, so that specially-assigned persons and power device are not needed and the intercepting float facility is convenient and simple to overhaul in later period.
