The invention relates to a special upright post for a reaction sintering silicon carbide kiln and a preparation method thereof. The upright post comprises an upright post main body and a plurality ofbase plates. The upright post main body is in a circular tube shape. The upright post main body is provided with a plurality of hole sets used for being connected with a kiln car support. A pluralityof reinforcing ribs are arranged on the wall surface of an inner cavity of the upright post main body; and the base plates are fixed at the lower side surfaces of mounting holes. The preparation method comprises the following steps of 1, weighing raw materials; 2, mixing the raw materials; 3, pouring the mixed raw materials into a kneading machine, adding deionized water, performing kneading, andtaking out the mixture after the mixture is muddy; 4, manufacturing blanks of the upright post main body and the base plates; 5, performing normal-temperature drying, low-temperature drying and high-temperature drying on the blank of the upright post main body and the blanks of the base plates; 6, forming the mounting holes in the blank of the upright post main body; and 7, mounting the base plates. The upright post is reasonable in structure, high in density and uniform in wall thickness; the compressive strength is high; and resistance to the high temperature of 1250 DEG C is achieved, and deformation, cracking, bending and collapsing are avoided after long-term use and operation.
