The invention discloses a water-based fettling material which comprises the following raw materials in parts by weight: 20-40 parts of first-grade sintered magnesia; 53-80 parts by weight of primary fused magnesite; 8-9 parts by weight of silica powder; 0-8 parts by weight of organic explosion-proof fibers; 0.2-1 part by weight of a water reducing agent; 0.1-1 part by weight of sodium citrate or boric acid; 0.7-1 part by weight of lignin; and 0.5-1 part by weight of starch. The environment-friendly water-based fettling material provided by the invention is good in fluidity, short in sinteringtime and sufficient in sintering, so that a furnace lining of a repaired furnace body is compact in structure, good in erosion resistance, good in scouring resistance and impact resistance, long in service life and environment-friendly.
