The invention provides a converter fettling material prepared from a waste magnesium sagger and a use method. The converter fettling material is prepared from a waste magnesium sagger material, magnesia aggregate, magnesium dihydrogen phosphate powder and a heating sintering aid. According to the invention, the waste magnesium sagger material is used as the converter fettling material, so that the purpose of full-value high-value utilization of the components of the waste magnesium sagger is achieved; the converter fettling material does not generate toxic and harmful gas, can avoid the defect that toxic and harmful gas is released in the combined sintering process of asphalt, and has the effects of high sintering speed and short fettling time compared with a traditional resin or asphalt converter fettling material (large and small surfaces of a converter); the fettling material has the advantages of being low in cost, capable of being suitable for the large face (and small face) portion of the converter and the trunnion portion, and good in fettling effect.
