The invention discloses a multifunctional sensor for detecting compactness of an asphalt pavement and an arrangement method. The sensor has the functions of detecting temperature, vibration acceleration, an amplitude and frequency data and positioning, the appearance of the sensor is similar to asphalt mixture aggregate through armoring, and the sensor resists a high temperature and high pressure,and a plurality of sensors are paved together with an asphalt mixture according to a certain interval; and the sensors are embedded in an asphalt pavement structure layer, and can be matched with a Beidou satellite, a base station, a data processing cloud platform and a display (or a terminal for receiving a data instruction and capable of automatically navigating construction of a vibratory roller). According to the invention, a problem that the compactness cannot be detected in real time or detection is inaccurate during asphalt pavement construction can be solved, the effectiveness of asphalt pavement compaction data detection is improved, and the overall compaction condition of the pavement is obtained; a rolling route of the vibratory roller can be guided and optimized in real time,and the construction efficiency and quality are improved; and in combination with an unmanned vibratory roller, compaction work during asphalt pavement construction is guided through real-time feedback of compaction data.
