The invention relates to a novel anti-skid coating for the surface of a magnesia carbon brick, and belongs to the technical field of refractory material surface treatment. The novel anti-skid coating for the surface of the magnesia carbon brick is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 35-38 parts of white latex, 50-56 parts of calligraphy ink, 4-15 parts of chromium carbide and 0-2 parts of a sodium polyacrylate solution. The anti-skid coating is low in production cost, the selected binder is low in curing temperature, coating construction does not need to be conducted immediately after the magnesia carbon bricks are taken out of a drying kiln, convenience is brought to production organizations of the magnesia carbon bricks, in addition, the anti-skid coating contains part of efficient additives, a firmly-adhered anti-skid coating can be rapidly formed on the surface of the magnesia carbon brick after coating, and thus the anti-skid and wear-resistant effects penetrate through each link of packaging, building, application and the like of the magnesia carbon brick.
