The invention discloses a steel structure joint and a construction method thereof. The steel structure joint comprises a section steel column, a beam, a first anchoring plate and a second anchoring plate, wherein, the section steel column comprises a column main body and flanges on the four sides, the column main body comprises two column plates perpendicular to each other, and the flanges are perpendicularly fixed to one ends of the corresponding column plates; the beam comprises a beam main body and a plurality of beam ribs, and the beam main body is arranged on one side of the corresponding flange; the first anchoring plate is fixed on a plate column, and the second anchoring plate is fixed on the outer sides of the flanges; part of the beam ribs are anchored to the first anchoring plate, part of the beam ribs are anchored to the corresponding flanges, and part of the beam ribs are anchored to the second anchoring plate; and the steel structure joint further comprises a concrete structure. According to the steel structure joint, the beam ribs are distinguished and are divided into three types to be anchored with the first anchoring plate, the flanges and the second anchoring plate correspondingly, so that the beam ribs do not need to penetrate through the whole section steel column, the problem that dense beam ribs block one another is solved, the connecting efficiency is greatly improved, and the connecting strength can be guaranteed.
