The invention relates to the technical field of pavement detection, and discloses a pavement flatness detection device which comprises a mobile platform, a laser calibrator is embedded in the right side wall of the mobile platform, first push rods are mounted at four corners of the bottom of the mobile platform, and moving wheels are mounted at the bottoms of the first push rods. According to the pavement flatness detection device and the detection method thereof, when a detection wheel rolls on the road surface, a pressure module can detect the pressure of the contact position of the detection wheel and the road surface, and pressure information detected by the pressure module can be transmitted to an external computer; and the computer performs modeling or draws a pressure change diagram according to the obtained pressure information, so that the pavement flatness information can be visually displayed, the whole device is higher in pavement flatness detection precision, higher in operability and higher in control precision, meanwhile, the time consumption of manual operation is reduced, and the time cost and the labor cost are greatly reduced.
