The invention relates to the technical field of road detection equipment, in particular to a pavement flatness detection device and a detection method thereof.The pavement flatness detection device comprises a box body, a driving structure is arranged in the box body, a sweeping disc structure connected with the driving structure is arranged at the front end of the box body, and the sweeping disc structure comprises an air outlet pipe capable of horizontally swinging in a reciprocating mode; an air spraying head is arranged at one end of the air outlet pipe, a sweeping disc with an up-and-down buffering distance is further arranged at the front end of the air spraying head, a flatness detection structure matched with the sweeping disc structure is arranged at the rear end of the box body, and the flatness detection structure comprises a distance block capable of ascending and descending up and down; a plurality of laser detection probes with adjustable intervals are arranged on the distance block, so that the problems that in the prior art, the intervals between the laser detection probes cannot be adjusted according to needs, namely, the flatness of the width surface cannot be adjusted and detected according to the road width, and branches and leaves or stones possibly exist on the road surface are effectively solved; and the detection result is not accurate enough due to untimely cleaning.
