The invention relates to reactive powder concrete and a preparation method thereof. The reactive powder concrete comprises the following components: 28%-32% of cement, 7%-8% of a mineral admixture, 45%-50% of mixed quartz sand, 1%-2% of a water reducing agent, 5%-6% of steel fibers and the balance of water, the mineral admixture is I-grade fine ground slag; the mixed quartz sand comprises the following components: 40-45% of coarse-particle-size quartz sand, 30-35% of medium-particle-size quartz sand and 24-28% of fine-particle-size quartz sand; the preparation method comprises the following steps: pre-stirring mixed quartz sand and steel fiber for 60 seconds, adding cement, a mineral admixture, a water reducing agent and water, and stirring for 2-3 minutes to obtain reactive powder concrete; the cement, the mineral admixture and other active powder materials are used as main materials, and the mixed quartz sand, the water reducing agent, the steel fiber and the water are used as auxiliary materials, so that the compressive strength and the breaking strength of the concrete can be improved, the concrete has very good durability, and the safety aspect can far meet the use requirements.
