The invention provides a continuous-flow excavation construction method for a riverway in a limited area. The method includes the steps that S1, a drainage ditch is excavated in the riverway along the river direction, so that upstream river water in the riverway can flow along the drainage ditch; S2, earth excavation is conducted on the portions, on the two sides of the drainage ditch, in the riverway, and retaining soil is reserved on the two side edges of the drainage ditch; and S3, after riverway parts on the two sides of the drainage groove are excavated, the river water on the upstream of the upper end of the drainage ditch is cut off, and earth excavation is conducted on the drainage ditch. The continuous-flow excavation construction method for the riverway in the limited area has the beneficial effects that the drainage ditch is formed in the riverway for drainage, so that the problem that a site is limited due to the fact that diversion trenches are formed outside the riverway is solved, and construction is not limited by surrounding environment any more; earth excavation construction is conducted on the two sides of the drainage ditch while the drainage ditch drains the water, so that the riverway excavation efficiency is improved, and the construction period is shortened; and in addition, the drainage ditch is arranged in a segmented mode for earth excavation, and the method is suitable for earth excavation of rivers with long length and large riverway depth.
