The invention discloses a quick-setting curing material and a preparation method thereof, and relates to the field of quick-setting curing engineering materials. The quick-setting curing material comprises functional powder which is quickly cooled after being calcined, and the functional powder comprises the following components in parts by weight: 40-45 parts of bauxite, 40-45 parts of limestone, 10-13 parts of gypsum, 2-5 parts of primary gypsum and 5-8 parts of an additive. The problems that an existing gel material does not have high water demand and good fluidity are solved. The invention also comprises a preparation method of the quick-setting curing material, which comprises the following steps: proportioning the functional powder in parts by weight, calcining at 1500 DEG C, directly putting the calcined material into a material box after calcining, immersing into liquid nitrogen for cooling, taking out the material after cooling, crushing, and adding gypsum and an additive. The purpose of increasing the specific surface area of the mixed material is achieved.
