The invention relates to a high-performance coating material for an intermediate frequency furnace, which comprises the following components in percentage by weight: 50 to 60 percent of fused white corundum particles, 20 to 35 percent of white corundum fine powder, 0 to 10 percent of aluminum oxide micro powder, 0 to 10 percent of clay, 0 to 8 percent of silicon micro powder, 0 to 3 percent of chromium oxide micro powder, 0 to 1 percent of plasticizer, 1 to 5 percent of composite additive, and 10 percent of an aluminum dihydrogen phosphate liquid binding agent which is additionally added; wherein the composite additive is composed of citric acid and oxalic acid. The composite additive composed of citric acid and oxalic acid is added, the pH value of the coating material is effectively adjusted, the shelf life of the coating material can be prolonged, the high-temperature strength of the coating material can be enhanced, and therefore the service life of the intermediate frequency furnace lining is prolonged.
