The invention provides a bridge construction method and a bridge dragging traction system. The method comprises the steps that an ashore temporary support and a main pier are erected ashore, and a first sliding way part used for providing a sliding way is supported through the ashore temporary support and the main pier; a sliding supporting part is arranged on a sliding way of the first sliding way part in a sliding mode; the steel structure bridge is split into a first part which cannot be transported through a road and a second part which can be transported through the road, so that the first part is converted to a slide way of the first slide way part; then, an underwater temporary support, an anti-sliding pier and a main pier are erected in the water area, a second sliding way part used for providing a sliding way is supported through the underwater temporary support, the anti-sliding pier and the main pier in the water area, and a sliding way of the first sliding way part and a sliding way of the second sliding way part are in butt joint to form a dragging sliding way; and the traction sliding support part slides along the traction slide way. By means of the method, the difficulty of water transportation is lowered, and a dragging slide way and a traction system are convenient to build.
