The method comprises the following preparation steps: raw material preparation, burdening, mud preparation, pugging, aging, extrusion molding, microwave shaping, drying and sintering. The used raw materials comprise white gangue in coal gangue; cost is low, and preparation steps are simple; and the prepared heat storage material can be applied to the fields of off-peak electricity heat storage and supply, steel mill waste heat recovery and solar heat utilization, has the characteristics of low cost, high heat storage density, good thermal shock resistance and good heat exchange effect, and can realize high-temperature heat storage at 500-800 DEG C.
