The invention discloses water-resistant thermal-insulation plastering gypsum, which is prepared from the following raw materials in percentage by weight: 20-70% of high-strength gypsum powder, 1-30% of light calcium carbonate powder, 1-50% of heavy calcium carbonate powder, 1-20% of glass beads, 1-10% of diatomite, 1-10% of brucite, 1-3% of lignocellulose, 1-3% of calcium stearate, 0.1-3% of cellulose ether, 0.1-3% of starch ether, 0.1-10% of a powdery adhesive and 1-5% of a gypsum retarder. The plastering gypsum has certain bearing capacity, and is good in cohesiveness, not prone to shrinkage and free of hollowing and cracking. The invention further discloses a preparation method of the water-resistant thermal-insulation plastering gypsum. The preparation method is simple and reliable in preparation process and convenient to operate.
