The invention discloses a novel adjustable double-step yield type buckling restrained brace which comprises a sleeve, lifting lugs are welded to the surface of the sleeve and used for facilitating installation and lifting of the sleeve, flanges are arranged at the ends of the sleeve and used for butt joint installation of the ends of the sleeve, a main core plate is arranged in the sleeve, and the position between the main core plate and the sleeve is filled with materials, auxiliary core plates are fixed to the end of the sleeve at equal intervals, one ends of the auxiliary core plates are welded to the flange, and bolt holes are formed in the other ends of the auxiliary core plates. The novel adjustable double-step yield type buckling restrained brace is composed of a main core plate and an auxiliary core plate, the connecting position of the auxiliary core plate and a flange is welded, and the other end of the auxiliary core plate is connected with a sleeve through a bolt; in the process of tension and pressure, the auxiliary core plates firstly enter the yield state for energy dissipation and shock absorption, then the main core plate enters the yield state for energy dissipation and shock absorption, different anti-seismic requirements can be met by adjusting the number of the auxiliary core plates, and compared with a traditional BRB, the BRB has better anti-seismic performance.
