The invention discloses a double-step bending type mild steel damper which comprises an upper connecting plate and a lower connecting plate, an X-shaped plate is fixed between the upper connecting plate and the lower connecting plate, a rib plate is further fixed between the end of the upper connecting plate and the end of the lower connecting plate, and the rib plate is perpendicularly welded to the upper connecting plate and the lower connecting plate. The plane where the rib plates are located is perpendicular to the plane where the X-shaped plates are located, the X-shaped plates are used for achieving longitudinal damping, and the rib plates are used for achieving transverse damping. According to the double-step bending type mild steel damper, in the elastic stage of the mild steel damper, the X-shaped plates and the rib plates do not yield to dissipate energy and only provide additional rigidity for the structure, and the rib plates are arranged so that interlayer lateral displacement of a frame can be reduced easily; in the plastic stage of the mild steel damper, the X-shaped plates and the rib plates start to conduct yield energy dissipation work, additional rigidity and additional damping are provided for the structure, and the seismic response of the structure can be effectively reduced; through two-stage yield, the problem of energy consumption and shock absorption of two frequency bands is solved.
