The invention relates to an inerter capable of adaptively adjusting an inerter coefficient. The inerter comprises a screw rod, a supporting block, an inner cylinder and one or more outer cylinders, the supporting block is sleeved with the inner cylinder, balls are filled between the inner cylinder and the supporting block, the inner cylinder is sleeved with the outer cylinder, and the side face in at least one direction is supported on the supporting block through the balls; the screw penetrates through the inner cylinder and the supporting seat and is meshed with the inner cylinder, and a friction plate is arranged between the inner cylinder and the outer cylinder. Compared with the prior art, the inner cylinder and the outer cylinder are supported by the friction plates, so that self-adaptive adjustment of the inerter coefficient is realized by utilizing static friction and sliding friction mechanisms.
