The invention discloses a two-way limiting type SMA spring friction composite damper which comprises a damping box body. The first energy dissipation part comprises an SMA spring energy dissipation device and a damping device which are arranged in the first direction, a main transmission mechanism and an auxiliary transmission mechanism of the spring energy dissipation device can respond to external force in the first direction to promote an SMA spring set to stretch or compress so as to dissipate energy, and the damping device can dissipate energy through friction force; the second auxiliary transmission part can respond to external force in the second direction to drive the main transmission mechanism to move relative to the auxiliary transmission mechanism, and then the spring set is promoted to be stretched or compressed; the temperature control device can adjust the temperature in the damping box body so as to change the damping coefficient and rigidity of the spring set and achieve self-resetting of the damper. Compared with the prior art, the energy dissipation and shock absorption effects in the horizontal direction and the vertical direction can be achieved, the better energy dissipation effect on shock absorption and shock resistance under the complex vibration condition is achieved, and resetting is easy.
