The invention relates to a hydraulic shear type recoverable intelligent anchor cable and a recovery method thereof, and the recoverable intelligent anchor cable comprises an anchor cable bundle; the hydraulic shearing mechanism is provided with a shell clamped to the anchor cable bundle; the hydraulic shearing part is mounted in the shell and used for cutting the anchor cable bundle; the controller is used for controlling the hydraulic shearing part to physically cut the anchor cable bundle; wherein the hydraulic shearing part comprises a cutter and a multi-stage hydraulic cylinder which are connected with each other, and when the multi-stage hydraulic cylinder is controlled by the controller to work, the multi-stage hydraulic cylinder synchronously drives the cutter to move in the radial direction so as to cut off the anchor cable bundle. The invention further relates to a recovery method of the hydraulic shearing type recoverable intelligent anchor cable. The recovery method comprises the steps that the hydraulic shearing mechanism is installed on the anchor cable bundle; a multi-stage hydraulic cylinder of the hydraulic shearing mechanism is controlled by the controller to work; the multi-stage hydraulic cylinder is driven by the controller to drive the cutter connected with the multi-stage hydraulic cylinder to move so as to cut the anchor cable bundle in the radial direction.
