The invention provides a concrete water reducer which comprises the following raw materials in parts by weight: 5-15 parts of a polycarboxylic acid water reducer, 1-4 parts of a slump retaining agent, 2-5 parts of a retarder, 0.1-0.3 part of sulfate, 0.1-0.5 part of an air entraining agent, 1-3 parts of dihydric alcohol and 70-80 parts of water. The water reducing agent is compounded with a concrete material for use, so that the durability, flowability, breaking strength and other properties of concrete can be greatly improved, the comprehensive performance of the water reducing agent is remarkably improved compared with that of a general commercially available polycarboxylic acid water reducing agent, and the water reducing agent can be widely applied to cast-in-place and commercial concrete of high-rise buildings, long-span bridges and other concrete structures. The raw materials are simple and easy to obtain, the preparation method is simple, and the concrete water reducing agent with excellent performance is obtained by selecting proper raw materials for compounding.
