The invention discloses a refractory castable for a plasma melting furnace and a preparation method of the refractory castable. The refractory castable comprises the following components in parts by mass: 40-60 parts of alumina fused corundum, 5-10 parts of anatase type TiO2, 1-5 parts of fused magnesia fine powder, 1-5 parts of nano zinc oxide, 1-5 parts of alumina micro powder, 4-8 parts of mullite, 6-12 parts of modified zirconia and 3-6 parts of an adhesive. The particle size of the alumina fused corundum is less than or equal to 2.0 mm, and the particle size of 25-40% of the alumina fused corundum is less than or equal to 0.5 mm; the mass ratio of the modified zirconium oxide to the mullite is 1.5: 1. The refractory castable is good in corrosion resistance and long in service life and has the surface properties of high strength and high compactness, and surface cracks are obviously reduced after the refractory castable is used for a long time.
