The invention discloses a full-assembly type viscoelastic-shape memory alloy damper and a damping method thereof.The damper comprises a middle steel plate, a viscoelastic material layer, a constraint steel plate, a pre-tightening high-strength bolt, a force transmission sliding rod unit and a shape memory alloy stranded wire; the constraint steel plate, the viscous-elastic material layer and the middle steel plate are flexibly assembled in an assembly type connection mode of applying pre-tightening force by the plurality of pre-tightening high-strength bolts and combining the pre-tightening force with super glue; the pre-tightening high-strength bolts penetrate through the limiting protection sliding grooves, the force transmission sliding rods are arranged in the limiting protection sliding grooves formed in the middle steel plate and the limiting protection sliding grooves formed in the constraint steel plate, and the multiple shape memory alloy stranded wires are connected with the force transmission sliding rods in an assembled mode and symmetrically distributed on the two sides of the constraint steel plate. The damper has the advantages of being convenient to rapidly assemble and construct on site and industrially produce, manufacture and popularize, meanwhile, the damper has excellent damping and energy dissipation effects and self-resetting capacity, and the damping frequency domain of the damper is greatly widened.
