The invention discloses a silicon nitride whisker reinforced aluminum nitride composite ceramic material and a preparation method thereof. The composite ceramic material is prepared from the following raw materials: 60wt%-90wt% of aluminum nitride, 5wt%-30wt% of silicon nitride whiskers and 3wt%-10wt% of a sintering aid. The preparation method comprises the following steps: preparation of silicon nitride whisker slurry, preparation of tape casting slurry, sieving and defoaming, tape casting, hot isostatic pressing, carbon removal treatment and normal-pressure sintering. The silicon nitride-aluminum nitride composite ceramic substrate material with higher stability and reliability can be prepared, and the bending strength of the silicon nitride-aluminum nitride composite ceramic substrate material ranges from 400 MPa to 600 MPa.
