The invention relates to a gate device and method for rapidly detecting trace explosives. The gate device comprises a gate shell, and an explosive detection mechanism, a detection sampler, an enhanced sampler, a detection belt, an identity verification mechanism and a detection belt transmission mechanism which are assembled on the gate shell, a ticket sampling opening is formed in the gate shell, the detection sampler is located below the ticket sampling opening, and a gap for the detection belt to penetrate through is reserved between the detection sampler and the ticket sampling opening; the detection belt sequentially penetrates through the enhanced sampler, the gap and the explosive detection mechanism and is driven by the detection belt transmission mechanism to operate; wherein the enhanced sampler comprises an electrostatic mechanism for increasing static electricity to the detection belt or a solvent mechanism for forming a solvent film on the detection belt. A detected person puts tickets into the equipment to make contact with the tickets, the enhanced sampler is adopted to improve the explosive collecting and adsorbing capacity of the detection belt, the trace explosive detection mechanism is combined, people, the tickets and the explosives can be screened through the gate machine at a time, and the explosive screening efficiency and the coverage rate are improved.
