The present invention relates to the technical field of road engineering construction, and provides a road base material prepared from industrial solid waste, the road base material comprises the following components by mass: 40-65 parts of iron tailings, 8-20 parts of steel slag powder, 5-15 parts of granulated blast furnace slag micropowder (water granulated slag for short), 0.1-10 parts of coal-fired slag, 0.1-8 parts of cement, 0.1-5 parts of lime, and 15-25 parts of water; enough strength and compactness are achieved; and the method is suitable for the base layer strength of the traffic load grade and the subbase layer strength of the traffic load grade.
