Silicon carbide hardened and toughened high-entropy carbide composite ceramic as well as preparation method and application thereof
The invention belongs to the technical field of non-oxide ceramic-based composite materials, and discloses a silicon carbide hardened and toughened high-entropy carbide composite ceramic as well as a preparation method and application thereof. The method comprises the following steps: preparing carbon-silicon coated metal mixed powder from titanium powder, zirconium powder, niobium powder, tantalum powder, molybdenum powder, silicon powder and carbon powder in equal molar ratio through a powder coating machine, then putting the mixed powder into a graphite mold, and preparing the silicon carbide hardened and toughened high-entropy carbide composite ceramic by adopting a spark plasma sintering or hot pressed sintering process. The composite ceramic has higher Vickers hardness and fracture toughness than high-entropy carbide ceramic, the relative density is close to 100%, the Vickers hardness is 25-27 GPa, the fracture toughness is 5-7 MPa.m < 1/2 >, and the composite ceramic can be applied to preparation of cutting difficult-to-machine materials or aerospace wear-resistant parts.
