The invention discloses a cement grinding aid and an application method of the cement grinding aid in a large-dosage limestone mixed material. The cement grinding aid is prepared from the following components in percentage by mass: 8 to 12 percent of diisoalcohol monoethyl propanolamine, 6 to 10 percent of triethanolamine, 8 to 12 percent of polyhydric alcohol, 4 to 6 percent of sodium carbonate, 12 to 18 percent of liquid sodium thiocyanate and 50 to 56 percent of water. The high-dosage limestone cement is prepared from the following components in percentage by mass: 45 to 55 percent of clinker, 5 to 25 percent of waste limestone, 7 to 14 percent of fly ash, 10 to 14 percent of superfine slag powder, 0 to 14 percent of slag, 3 to 6 percent of desulfurized gypsum and a cement grinding aid, and the addition amount of the cement grinding aid accounts for 0.08 to 0.2 percent of the total mass of the high-dosage limestone cement. According to the cement grinding aid and the large-dosage limestone cement provided by the invention, the occupied area emission of the waste limestone is reduced, the comprehensive utilization rate of the waste limestone is improved, the purposes of reducing the cost, increasing the benefit and protecting the environment are achieved, and the use performance of the cement is improved.
