The addition amount of the lime is 0.5% of the mass of the expansive soil, and the addition amount of the waste plastic fiber strips is 0.25%-1% of the mass of the expansive soil. The improvement method comprises the following steps: 1, completely mixing the lime reaching the optimal water content with the air-dried expansive soil; 2, uniformly adding waste plastic fiber strips into the mixture obtained in the step 1; and 3, carrying out material covering treatment on the mixture obtained in the step 2, so as to obtain the product. The lime is added into the expansive soil, so that the performance of the expansive soil is improved, and the expansion rate of the expansive soil is reduced. The influence of waste plastic products on the environment is favorably solved, and the requirements of green and sustainable development are met.
