The invention discloses a method for preparing light concrete by using gold tailings as aggregate. The method is characterized in that building block raw materials comprise the following components in percentage by mass: 50-70% of gold tailings, 10-15% of cement, 10-30% of river sand and 10-15% of water. The ratio of water to materials is 10-15% of water and 85-90% of materials. The method comprises the following steps: (1) adding water into gold ore tailings and river sand according to a ratio, uniformly mixing, placing in a drying oven, drying, and grinding the mixed gold ore tailings into powder; (2) weighing cement and water according to a ratio, and pouring the mixed gold ore tailings, cement and water into a stirrer; and (3) pouring into a mold after stirring, and waiting for natural air drying. And (4) carrying out random sampling detection on the green body, wherein the compressive strength of the green body meets the GB50107-2010 concrete strength inspection and evaluation standard.
