The invention relates to the technical field of asphalt concrete processing, in particular to asphalt concrete and a preparation method thereof. The method comprises the following steps: step 1, separately storing an asphalt material and a mineral material in a movable material preparation device; 2, the movable material making device is moved to a construction site; 3, according to the actual use condition, part of the asphalt material and the mineral aggregate are instantly mixed through a stirrer; according to the asphalt concrete prepared by the preparation method of the asphalt concrete, the weight part ratio of the asphalt material to the mineral aggregate is 1: 20, and the mineral aggregate comprises broken stone, sand and mineral powder; the container is supported through the movable platform, the combined container is adopted to contain the asphalt material and the mineral aggregate, and the asphalt material and the mineral aggregate of the specified amount are mixed in real time by controlling communication and isolation of the combined container; and the movable platform drives the container to move to a position where pavement patching is needed, so that the purpose of preparing the asphalt concrete which is easy to use and required by pavement patching is achieved.
