The invention discloses a silicon dioxide ceramic material and a preparation method thereof, and belongs to the technical field of high-performance ceramic fillers. The material is prepared from the following raw materials in percentage by weight. The material comprises, by weight, 10-15% of silicon nitride, 10-15% of boron nitride, 5-10% of rare earth modified oxide whiskers, 3-5% of zirconium oxide and the balance silicon dioxide. Firstly, rare earth metal modified aluminum oxide whiskers are added into a matrix, and then a proper amount of boron nitride is added to increase the density of a system. Meanwhile, due to the use of silicon dioxide particles with different particle sizes, large-particle solids can promote uniform dispersion of small particles and other raw materials such as zirconium oxide, boron nitride and rare earth oxide whiskers, and agglomeration is reduced. The wave-transparent ceramic material has the advantages of favorable mechanical properties, low heat conductivity, low dielectric value, low dielectric loss, favorable thermal shock resistance, favorable processability and excellent comprehensive properties.
