The municipal sludge lightweight porous ceramsite comprises the following raw materials in parts by weight: 30-40 parts of municipal sludge, 20-40 parts of shale, 10-15 parts of coal gangue, 5-10 parts of granular activated carbon, 3-8 parts of secondary aluminum ash, 2-5 parts of a binder and 10-20 parts of water. The preparation method of the municipal sludge lightweight porous ceramsite comprises the following steps: drying and crushing municipal sludge; shale and coal gangue are subjected to crushing treatment; mixing the municipal sludge, shale and coal gangue with granular activated carbon, secondary aluminum ash, a binder and water, and granulating to obtain a spherical ceramsite raw material; and sintering the spherical ceramsite raw material at high temperature to obtain the municipal sludge lightweight porous ceramsite. The municipal sludge lightweight porous ceramsite has a lightweight porous structure and also has relatively high compressive strength. In the preparation method of the municipal sludge lightweight porous ceramsite, the municipal sludge utilization rate is high, and the ceramsite has the advantages of greenness and low carbon.
