The invention relates to the field of recycling of tailing resources, in particular to a dehydration production line and a dehydration process for water-containing tailing sand. Water-containing tailing sand is contained in an ore storage bin and conveyed into a stirring machine through an auger, calcium oxide powder is added into the stirring machine in proportion, the calcium oxide powder is conveyed into a reaction bin through the auger after being stirred evenly, calcium oxide in the reaction bin reacts with water in the water-containing tailing sand, and the calcium oxide powder is conveyed into a grading device after being fully reacted in the reaction bin; reactants and dehydrated tailing sand powder firstly enter a vibrating screen of the first-stage grading device, coarse-particle tailing sand powder is firstly separated out, and fine particles separated out by the first-stage grading device comprise calcium hydroxide particles, calcium oxide particles which are not completely reacted and some fine-particle tailing sand powder; and after winnowing by a winnowing machine of the secondary grading device, respectively packaging. The dehydration process does not need extra energy consumption, and reaction products can be reutilized.
