The invention relates to a process for producing sand for construction through dehydration and desliming. The process comprises the following steps of: 1, carrying out equipment type selection, demonstration and comparison; 2, carrying out screen surface material type selection test; 3, carrying out screen seam width test; 4, determining the height of an ore baffle at the ore discharge end of a sieve plate; 5, designing the inclination angle of the screen surface; 6, determining the vibration frequency and amplitude; 7, desliming with a second-section sieve; and 8, separating and recycling undersize mud and water. According to the technical scheme, the sand quality standard in the building industry is met, the tailing resource utilization rate is increased, the stacking amount is reduced, the occupied tailing pond capacity is reduced, overflow water is clarified and recycled and is not discharged, no pollution is generated, and the process has an important effect on the ecological environment.
